What I love most about his characters is there sarcasm. I also admire how he works in all three mediums of voice over anime, original animation and video games). You are awesome as Wolverine, Sub-Zero, Red Skull, Ghostfreak, Vilgax, Heatwave, Beta Ray Bill, Kraven, Taskmaster, Abomination, Shockwave, Shrapnel, Swindle, Starscream, and my personal favorite: Limon from Chowder!!!! I saw him do the Goofy impression on a panel he was on and it was a live script reading for Star wars: The Force Awakens It took so long to scroll down I didn't even realize how much work you put in Blum, from just seeing your voice monkey youtube video to seeing all this..blown. M., Kyohei Kadota, Vilgax, Ghost Freak, Green Goblin, Amon, Wolverine, Ghost Freak, Zeb Orrelios, Guilmon, Jake Martinez, Leeron, Zabuza Momochi, Mugen, Orochimaru, and of course everyone's favorite Space Cowboy: Spike Spiegel.
He has many, many roles I've grown to appreciate as well as flat-out like, but the performances that stick out to me other than the aforementioned four include Starscream, Kazuma the Shell Bullet, Amon, Jamie, Guilmon, J. Shibayama, Colonel Capricciola, Roger Smith, Leeron, Taskmaster, Zabuza Momochi, Jack Cayman, Mugen, Zarik "Dingo" Kajiwara, Dhalsim, Ken Masters, Zeb Orrelios, Kyohei "Dotachin" Kadota, Emperor Velo XXVII, Ukki Yellow/Yellow Monkey, Heatblast, Ghostfreak, Vilgax, Makoto Shishio, Green Goblin, Red Skull/Johan Schmidt, Beta Ray Bill, Commander Smytus, Techmo, Yata, Killer Croc/Waylon Jones, and Vincent Valentine. One of the greatest VAs & most awesome voices of our time. Possibly some of the most fun I actually had playing Hitman Absolution was that I got to hear Steve playing that security guy in the first mission and then that other soldier when you're escaping the motel. XD Sure, it may get old hearing him do the same old thing so many times.
Had it not been for his renditions of Spike Spiegel, Wolverine/Logan, Orochimaru, and T. M., I personally wouldn't have discovered the figure. I for one highly enjoy picking his voice out in a game.
Every time I hear his voice in a move, show, or game, no matter how big or small or good or bad the role, I've always been enthralled and instantly have a need to listen attentively to it.
When a VA causes an action like that, they're obviously doing something [email protected] Vengeance Knight Well every character he voices sounds the same.
I wouldn't expect the role to crack number 1, but I did expect... Plus, the likes (votes/comments) of the Starscream VC would greatly dispute the last [email protected] Tuxedo I agree with your first point, but your second point is kind of subjective.
I also really loved his performances as Mugen, Wolverine, Green Goblin, Red Skull, Amon, Heatwave, Leeron, Jake Martinez, The Laughing Man, Kyohei Kadota, Kyoshiro Tohdoh, Heatblast, Vilgax, Ghostfreak, Balladbird Lee, Cunningham, Kia Freeborn, Moses, Professor Nebraska, Killer Croc, Count Vertigo, Captain Cold, Heat Wave, Beta Ray Bill, Kraven the Hunter, Taskmaster, Abomination, Sauron, Pyro, Zeb Orrelios, Speed Demon, Darksteel, Shockwave, Sharpnel, Barricade, his roles on GI Joe Resolute and Digimon and of course T. Most notable to mention is that with Steve taking on Defensor, this is the second time succeeds a role done originally by Chris Latta. Your voice gives them personality, realism, enjoyment, And depth! Besides, there are guys like Michael Dobson or Chris Latta that've embodied that character more wholly and less recognizably than Steve [email protected] Tuxedo But I'd at least think he'd have at least double those votes. His range is pretty fantastic, beyond just his signature gravel he can do lower-key whispery (Taskmaster) voices, higher raspy voices (Goblin, Starscream), his adorable kid voice (Guilmon), & he can also *really* turn up the gravel if Wolverine & Beta Ray Bill are seen. Of course, this is one man, he doesn't have a limitless vocal range, but he does have a darn good one. He's got an amazing gruff & threatening but very intelligent-sounding voice: I genuinely assumed that Zabuza, TOM, Blackwargreymon, & numerous other characters with Steve's voice were just someone else doing an impression of Flamedramon. A lot of the time an actor is only as good as his director because the director has final say and control over everything. ), Grunt, Jack Cayman, Killer Croc, loads of anime stuff I'm forgetting. I admit that a lot of his characters sound the same, and I'm not even a big fan of a lot of his characters to begin with. Some great roles: Mugen, Orochimaru, Zabuza, Leeron (totally playing against type, its just great), Wolverine, anything Digimon, Amon, Spike, Dotachin (! If you think a guy with this amount of experience and who has impressed so many times sounds stale, or emotionless, or just didn't meet your expectations it was probably the result of lazy, uninspired casting, or a poor director. He is without a doubt one of the greatest voice actors for our generation, and is versatile on the numerous roles he plays in anime, original animation and video games. Thankfully, the person apologized and made up with him... "Sure, it may get old hearing him do the same old thing so many times.
